I have the Tennessee CDL handbook, and I know which chapters to study, Just wondering How much I should study, Should a couple hours a day do it, or study everyday for 2 weeks ? Can anyone give advice on how difficult the written test is ? Not looking for an easy out, but I do work midnights and having an idea will help. Thx.

Look on the net, there's practice test all over. Study until you can ace them and then you shouldn't have any problems.

I've done all my testing in TN.

The practice tests on the internet are pretty close to the real test. If you only rely on the internet practice tests, you will discover a few questions on the real test that will throw you off.

It may be a good idea to study the practice tests, and then review the sections in the CDL handbook that the questions refer to. That way you can focus on parts of the CDL handbook rather than reading the whole handbook cover to (boring) cover.

As has been said...just study until you can pass the practice tests.

The pre-trip is the hard part...memorize it in sections.

Its been so long since I tested...honestly, I forget how it went.

study a lot. I just passed the Ky permit test. The questions were not what I expected. They took the manual and re-worded some questions into practical applications. Don't think that knowing that red air lines are emergency supply and blue lines are for service is going to be enough. In short.....STUDY!

They are multiple choice and a piece of cake when two other answers are stupid.

You get 3 tries. If you can tie your shoes you can pass. Read the book as much as you can and take the practice test. You'll do okay. Beauty is if you did fail the 1st one you can concentrate on your wrong answers as you know the others.

Lol, I seen one site that wanted $124.95 for a practice test.
