I wouldn't stress about it. In the 13 years I spent in the training department I can't think of one incident of a trainee stealing from another trainee. If you're really worried, just wait until you're out on your own.
Finally got a Job with Schneider. What should I expect?

I saw that change......"God Bless America (and no one else)" to "God Bless America"
There is no doubt America is the best country for a living person overall. It's literally an entire continent at this point, might expand unto the north....Canadians WATCH OUTethos, Mega Express and Chinatown Thank this. -
I was just trying to warn you about them guy. They are a breed all of their own.
Good thing is - you won't be under a training contract so if you can't stand it you can leave at any time with no worries.
Check with that Windy Hill Foilage in Fla. They train new grads. -
NO valuables unless you can loose them without worry.

My first driving job was back in the 90's and it was in the Chicago land area. No GPS or phone to help me. All we had back then was a road atlas and a CB radio. My run had 11 drops every Monday/Tuesday. Then my 2nd driving job in the late 90's was for Metropolitan Trucking running Chicago regional. Running that area never bothered me.Mega Express, ethos and Numb Thank this.

Everything you need to take should fit into 1 backpack, except your sleeping bag, Dont take tools, Keep your personal opinions to your self till your in your own truck. The trainer is not your friend, their your trainer. If you dont like what there saying, as long as it is not a safety issue, just deal with it, if it is a safety issue that matters bring it up to your DM. The DM is your best life line. Training, just get thru it, try to get in as much backing experience as you can, but don't overstress it. Dont be a pig, if your trainer is request a new one, nobody should nave to put up with that.
The easiest way to put it is, your temporarily moving into there house, so take what you need, just not the extras, plenty of time for that.
If you have to travel from the truck to anywhere ( like home or to a termnal) keep your carry with you bag to where you can always grab and go. Also keep 1000 dollars in reserve, ( I carry it in cash, but line of credit or venmo, etc) to get back homw in an emergency.
Above all try to make everybodys day a little better, treating them as you wish to be treated. After all these years and miles I still learn from new and old drivers alike. you kind of get what you look for.
I just completed a long run from Seal Beach CA, thru Mercury NV to Norfolk VA to Puget Sound WA back thru Hawthorne NV, ending in Long Beach CA. The company had me take a newer driver for a check out run, he was great, expect his trainer never taught him the basics of backing, glad he mentioned it. For the whole trip I did not bacl the truck, but took the opertuninty to teach him, when we arrived to the deiivery in the SoCal Port, I started apcking up my stuff and got the privilage of handing the keys to him and welcoming to the " I cant talk about it fleet",
Sorry for the ramble, but he was told out test trip was to Nevada and back, but he had the privlage to lean early on nothing in trucking is for sure, and youve got to roll with the loads. Don't like a load just run it and get it over with.
7500 mile test drive and we did kill each other, probably my last trainee,
Good time for all. Certainly my last dont ask done tell load.Oldman83, dand200, Reso23 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah you're right. Definitely can't let he little things bother you. Only way to hack it out here that's for sure.
But can you imagine not knowing what you're doing. Leaving Gary terminal and hopping on 90/94 heading towards Green Bay. Better hope it's 3 AM and not 3 PM! And hope you don't have to use the bathroom for at least 4 or 5 hours! I don't think I've ever seen a single spot at the Oasis and can't think of any truck stops til you get clear thru to Wisconsin yeah? -
Best way to think of the future, Dont worry about it too much. Handle each day as you need to. Look for the positive.
Of all th trainees I have head over the years, I have had very few issues, Biggest is seeing too much stuff, the least the better.lual Thanks this. -
I never kicked a student off my truck, but I did fail two of them.
Oldman83 and Powder Joints Thank this. -
Hope the door did hurt them on the way out. I did leave one once back early 2000's in Iowa, could not find them anywhere at the truckstop, so I left and delived to Marshalltown, dispatch was informed I needed to roll to make delivery, never heard anyting except swing thru the yard drop there junk of in Greeley Iowa on the way west..
