Just gave myself a good old fashioned asswhoopin.I was making sweet tea. Had the cold water and sugar in the pitcher. I was pouring the tea in and pressing the tea out of the tea bags when the spoon snapped in half. Tea bags went flying and I hit myself in the face with the hot pan.
Teresa said if that's what I'm going to do she'll just make sure there's some made for me all the time. If I had known that I would have hit myself in the face 25 years ago

Carbon tetrachloride
Was widely used in fire extinguishers until the mid-20th century, particularly for electrical and grease fires. However, it is no longer used due to high toxicity and its tendency to decompose into poisonous phosgene gas when exposed to flames. These antique extinguishers are extremely hazardous.
Key Facts About Carbon Tetrachloride Fire Extinguishers:
- Use Phase-out: Phased out of use in the U.S. starting around the 1960s-1970s, as noted by Monroe, OH and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
- Hazards: When heated,
breaks down into phosgene gas (
) and hydrogen chloride (
), which are dangerous, according to CAMEO Chemicals and Vaia. It is a known liver toxin and carcinogen. - Usage Context: These were often small, pump-type extinguishers used in homes and industrial settings.
- Disposal: If you have an antique extinguisher, do not discharge it. Contact a local fire department, hazardous waste agency, or the Solid Waste District for disposal.

Would like to see a pic of the Fire extinguisher post showing the upper portions of the rope block & tackle/ wire stretcher and the chain fall/chain hoist. Would love to be able to walk thru that building and view the hanging stuff.
As a personal suggestion, I would go to my local fire station and show the chief a pic of the extinguisher. Ask him how to handle to get it to him and he neutralize. #### thing might still blow or burst, even it look as if the contents leaked along ago. -
