    Nice work! Consistent too. Congratulations!

D'ahm that's a lot of folks! Helluva turnout for sure. Was it pretty nice weather?

    So..... What's next?

It will have taken me over three years by the time I get to my 100. My original post trying to make it in a few months proved I was slightly naive.

They have the Half, Quarter, and 5k and between all three, 15,000 participants from 44 states and seven countries. It’s a big deal here, along with the Nationwide Children’s Half and Full (I’m signed up for the Full in October). The weather was actually perfect running weather. Low 60’s cloudy and just enough wind to keep you cool when it was in your face.

I signed up for a night trail race in Nancy, Kentucky in August to run with my brother. But before that, I don’t have anything on the schedule. I need to find something though. I did purchase a used Trek road bike, so I’m going to switch it up for a month I think or throw it in a few days with my running.

How have you been? I see you snuck your way back up north. How’s your knee?

Sounds like awesome running weather! It's getting hot already here, and I have to keep that in mind when looking at heart rate vs pace. It makes a guy think he's going backwards with training.

That night trail race should be a lot of fun. I really like being out on trail at night, but it’s definitely slower if it's not a well manicured trail.

The bike should be a nice change of pace, and lower impact for sure. I've thought about it myself, but already have too many hobbies and not enough time. I did just tune up my mtn bike though. Maybe I can hit sime trails when time allows.

Still training slow and steady here. I'm starting to add some tempo work in. I've got about 10 days till I start my training plan for the 100. It's a 24 week plan that should run me right up to race day.

Hey @DeereRunner97, do you happen to be on Strava? I had to join for another challenge I'm in.

I’ve done two trail runs and it’s definitely a lot more technical than road running. The only running in the dark I’ve done have been those 4am road runs. But I’m excited for something new.

Mountain biking is not for sissy’s, that’s for sure. I assume you got some pretty good bike trails down there. Heck, even some of those hilly roads can make a man out of you.

Are you excited to start training for that? Where did you find your plan? Is it specifically for trail running? What’s the most miles it’s got you running for the weeks? I need to start thinking about how I want to prep for the Keys 100.

I don’t have Strava, but I’ve thought about getting it to join a running community. Don’t use it, if so, how do you like it?

Lots of good mountain bike trails around here. NW Arkansas has a huge mtn bike community. I even brought a ski lift down here for a new downhill trail system they’re putting in at Bella Vista.

Mena, AR also has a ski lift going in, and supposedly hundreds of miles of trail.

Those aren't really my thing. I don’t care for crowds, and usually just hit closed forest service roads in the mountains.

I'm pretty excited to start the training. I'll probably continue my slow Z2 runs, and I'm sure this plan includes more of that too but I'm ready to add some variety.

I bought the plan from Evoke Endurance. IIRC, it was called the Big Vert 100 plan, or something similar. So I'm sure it will have a heavy focus on muscular endurance, hill sprints, etc. But honestly, I've not even looked into the particulars of it yet. I trust their methods, and wanted to continue my aerobic base building as long as possible.

I know me, and if I had gone over the plan, I would have talked myself into replacing my Z2 work with a workout I saw in the plan.

Listening to Scott from Evoke talk on podcasts, I bet the highest mileage weeks with this plan will be less than 60 miles, but with lots of weighted hill runs.

Yeah, Strava is pretty nice. It's a little more user friendly than my Garmin watch app, way more user friendly than Training Peaks, and it looks easy to connect with others.

I haven't really used it for that yet. It has a playback feature I really like. It'll show your run and progression on a map. Basically a 360 view, along with pace and elevation. I'll share a hike you can check out
