Alaska is not IFTA,so you have to buy a plate or buy a temp permit at the DMV.They're $350 for either one,so most just buy the plate.

Can I just order one online and put it on the truck? Street cred is all I'm worried about. An Alaska plate at 350$ is still cheaper than a flaming skull arm tattoo and a pair of fingerless gloves.

Kinda like the 225 # soccer mom from Minot with the Salt Life sticker on her 07 Suburban.

Yes you have to be registered in the state of Alaska to haul loads into Alaska. They did not catch us coming in because they were closed at tok. But on the way out, they caught me. My other Trucks left out Sunday afternoon and the scales were closed so they didn't have to register. The DMV where you have to register is conveniently only about 5 miles from the Scales. The scale master almost closed his eyes and let me leave, but he just couldn't do it. $351 for truck and trailer for one year. Hope I get to use them one more time before they expire, but who knows.

North Pole did I not see you running one of those rock trucks up and down the road when I was coming in or going out. It looks like your avatar.

coming out across the Yukon by myself today. This sure could be a lonely road. Oh by the way one more reason to hate Yukon. They searched my truck yesterday and gave me hell about not having paperwork on my dog. they finally let me go. I was like you can keep the dog. I was just bluffing. Sorry, Murph

The lonely roads are the best roads, IMHO.

Best time to drive it,no RVs running 45 mph or construction yet, just weather and some wildlife.
