I gotta say this freightliner isn’t like the old ones. It’s been a few years, but all the electronic nanny stuff is very tame. It hasn’t hit the brakes or made noise, I’m impressed. Got a solid 7.6 mpg today I-80 from Rawlins to Imlay NV. Lots of hills and a good number for the day. I am used to turning more miles, 667 today….
Lonesome, navypoppop, bryan21384 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm just glad they allow us to turn off the blind spot thing. I think some companies have that option disabled and it's always on. I just wish there was an option to turn off the adaptive cruise... I wouldn't always keep it turned off. It's nice to relax and let it handle stop and go traffic for you. Just gotta watch it if you get some distance in front of you and then traffic stops again. They haven't figured out how to make it brake early enough in those situations... Likes to wait until the last second and slam on the brakes for some reason. But most of the time, cruising down the highway, it's just a nuisance. Every time you get closer to a truck that's going slower you gotta override and step on the pedal until you get close enough to pass. So annoying.Lonesome, navypoppop and bryan21384 Thank this.

Well, this is a first. I deadheaded to Hatfield, PA for a preloaded trailer going to Oklahoma City and when I arrived the shipper tells me they accidentally set the trailer at the wrong temp when they loaded it. The whole load was ruined. I think it was some kind of pork probably. That's what I hauled last time I picked up here. The temp was supposed to be 24° and it was set at 55° sitting in their yard for hours. Currently dispatch is telling me to wait until Monday. It's gonna be tough to make it home for my sister's graduation now, but hopefully it's still possible.
navypoppop, JForce28, Speed_Drums and 5 others Thank this. -
How are they with tolls? What’s their fuel network like and availability to fuel at what locations?
when does a pay period begin and end and is it weekly pay?
what computer system are they running? -
All of the rolls are covered. They've never bothered me about not taking certain toll roads or anything either. I've even used the express lanes in Dallas a few times and they never complained. There's no assigned fuel stops at all. You just fuel at any Love's. You can fuel the reefer at any of the other major truck stops when needed.
It's Tuesday to Monday and it's weekly. They used to have the option for biweekly since some loads are 2500+ miles and won't fall in a weekly pay period anyway, but I think most drivers didn't take that option because it's no longer an option.navypoppop Thanks this. -
