My company just switched from Omnitracks to Motive and can't figure out how to change a setting..
Example; You arrive at a shipper.. You set your elog on yard move when you arrive and are there for 3 hours..In Omnitracks, when using yard move, if you didn't go over 20 mph you could edit it later.
Our motive system is set at 5 mph. The instructions tell step by step how to change it to 20 mph, but when you get to the right screen, the button to change it just isn't there.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do it that the instructions aren't telling us?

I would say it's admin settings, not user.
blairandgretchen, tscottme, FLHT and 2 others Thank this. -
That is the admin controls I am talking about. I am working with the office guy that is trying to set it.
Motive tech support absolutely sucks. They call you nonstop till you sign the contract, then they disappear. -

That is the directions we are following.
There is nothing there to set it for 20 mph.
They had been using omni tracks for several years before I started working here and they already had it set for 20 mph when I got here.
I was driving up-and-down the road and in our yard on Friday at various speeds and various settings just trying to get it figured out.
When you have it set on yard, move if you go over 5 mile per hour. It says, you are driving but it doesn't count against your drive time. Also, if you don't manually change it from yard move to driving, you can drive as much as you want on yard move at ANY speed down the highway and it doesn't count against your drive time.
With omni tracks, when you hit twenty one mile per hour, it switched to driving.Last edited: Apr 26, 2026 at 5:40 PM

Call your log audit department. I bet they can answer you questions. Just saying.
-
I don't think motive audits logs. Besides, we're trying to figure out the problem before we actually start using them while hauling loads.
They won't answer the phone when our office guy tries to call them and they take two or three days to answer emails.
We're doing everything we can to try to figure it out while we're waiting for them to respond.
I should have started this thread with the question "Does anybody here have admin experience with motive".
I appreciate people trying to help but drivers without admin control can't answer the questions we have.
As I said before, I went out and did some test runs bobtailing in my truck and then went in and sat down at the desk with our office guy going through everything we can on the admin screen trying to get this to work and we are not seeing any way to fix it..Last edited: Apr 26, 2026 at 7:13 PM

Not a driver. Someone has full admin access on the account.
No different than omnitracs or others, when you purchase someone is granted that access.
Have trucks that can move 100's of feet before it picks it up, others can move 20' and it picks it up. -
I don't know how else to say it.
Our office guy is the administrator.
I am working with him.
This was a waste of time. -
So whine someplace else then. LOL
Then you need a new office guy. He's restricted on what he can do.
