I do believe in California that’s what’s called a wealthy man’s day cab.
After all he has to have a place to take his naps?![]()

I’m not OTR nor Regional, I’m local, I don’t have nor need all the amenities from home. I go home every night and sleep in my own bed. Also, I need the room to haul quite a bit of over hang in front and rear, anything bigger wouldn’t work and I would be turning money paying loads away. @Speedy356 and @beastr123 basically cover it.

Well...... This one gets dropped off first thing in the morning, then it's another load of poles headed to Eloy AZ. Close to that @D.Tibbitt dude I think.
Meanwhile - Steve's Homemade Ice Cream in Fernley NV, right across the freeway from the Pilot gets a shout out.

I've always heard of them referred to as, coffin sleepers.

I think a coffin sleeper you had to actually crawl through the back window to get in to.Carpenter Scotty, Gatordude, Oxbow and 10 others Thank this.

Could be, but the concept is the same. Just enough room for the body to be in. I was driving a Volvo 430 for a while for Swift when I was hauling intermodal around Chicago area, and that thing was a coffin sleeper...there was your seat, and behind it was the bunk. Nothing else, no storage...the front passenger seat was the storage.
