My apologies ahead of time if this is not the proper forum.
My wife and I are considering moving to Colorado in the next few years. I’m not set on continuing to drive after some things happening personally in the last several months. But I’d still like to take a look around at what companies may be available.
Honestly we are looking to live anywhere west of I-25 but to narrow it down slightly anywhere from Estes Park, Idaho Springs, Genesse to Bailey area, up around Woodland Park and then over around Durango are of interest to us. I know those areas will likely require a bit of a commute.
Would be looking for a local gig, or a very rare overnight. Preferably smaller company(10-20 trucks) Held Cdl for 16 yrs. I do have tank endorsement. I’m a pride in your ride kinda guy. W2 100k
90% of what I’ve done is aluminum bucket work grossing 117k (grain, aggregate, salt, fertilizer) Remaining 10% would be flatbed, hopper bottom and tank.I’d consider any of those perhaps a lowboy but I’d need to be trained. I do have heavy experience as well.
I’ve been following indeed, few local jobs but lots of OTR spam on there and always good to hear from locals.
i have stumbled upon jfw and dg Coleman but as stated above, prefer smaller companies.
Idk, just day dreaming and figured I’d see if anyone had recommendations…
    Thanks for any responses.

    Do you have hazmat endorsement?

Many small companies also monitor the Driver Pulse thread when looking for drivers.

Some small companies also look for drivers on Craigslist.

The Trucking Jobs forum is for companies seeking to hire drivers. They must have and post their DOT numbers as well and company names and phone numbers.
@Agtrucker should post in the Seeks Employment forum.

    Agtrucker and Chinatown Thank this.

CDL temp services sometimes have decent jobs available. Sometimes the temp service will release a driver to the company for full time employment, if the company likes the driver and has a full time opening available.

Alot of the small companies I know of got big in Colorado. JFW was small and very prideful of their trucks and still are. APEX and Cast Transportation. I worked for Cast was a pretty good gig. But I was OTR they have local flatbed work. It grew. Apex was owned by the brother they got big also. My buddy worked for them liked it a lot. You also got local Western Distribution the blue fancy trucks. Don’t know how much they pay local.

Personally I couldn’t commute from the areas you listed daily. I’ve driven all over the mountains daily in the winter and wouldn’t want to do it after I get off work. Just me personally. Love to live up there but I couldn’t do the commute.
