Has anyone hauled coils, either shot gun, or suicide with racks, but no dunnage? I’ve hauled coils many times, but never with out the dunnage, but had this broker argue with me, and at the same time say “I’m not a driver” well I’ve been a driver for many decades, and maybe I’m a bit old school , but dunnage is needed, if you are hauling shotgun, or suicide, and even eye to the sky!, Or am I missing something?

Yep, so have I, but the broker that Called me, said “racks are required” i thank her for the call, but informed her, i don't have the Dunnage at this moment , and at home right now, but she got argumentative with me!, and then hung up on me, so oh well, I guess!, maybe they’ll find someone thats not up on how to haul coils, and will show up unprepared

They usaully always say X number of racks required for the load if needed.I hauled some larger coiled tubing but no racks were needed, they were shipped in big timber cradles.

I didn't own any coil racks so I would pass on those loads if they weren't skidded.

I’ve got the racks, just not the dunnage at this time, i dont mind hauling coils with racks, done it many times, just dont get why a broker would call, then get mad when told “I cant haul this load at this time” the load pays about $2.20 with the deadhead, so it’s ok pay, but definitely not great pay, not good enough for me to go out of my way to go find the dunnage, and deadhead from home for it!, There should be someone they can find closer to take this load, But maybe they’re getting a little desperate, But they’ll need to make the pay a lot better, to get me to leave home, find the dunnage, then deadhead there

All last summer I was seeing those loads,$2.69 was the lowest.I hauled a lot into Sioux Falls, and for about a month there were loads from across the river in Louisville to Pleasanton Texas.Always easy to get loaded and unloaded, easy money.

There is no way to haul a coil safely without dunnage inside of coil rack.. unless it is already on a pallet..Even then unless its eye to sky, it need to be in a rack imo.. id imagine without dunnage its just going to be sitting on the deck, which is what a rack is supposed to eliminate. Plus it will probably damage the coil as soon as it sets down on the sides of the rack.. coils is one of the last loads u want to half ### unless u would like to die.

Isn’t it standard for a skateboarder to carry “dunnage” ? I haul various skateboards and never leave the yard without “dunnage”……

You’ve got racks and no dunnage-
So how are you currently utilizing them?

    seems kind of fruitless?

    I wouldn't haul the dunnage for 2.20 a mile
