at the risk of sounding like an ### hole-
If 30 years in you ain’t got anybody but random brokers to work with; prolly ought to be selling out anyway/Diesel Dave, Razororange, Long FLD and 2 others Thank this. -
I’ve hauled 2 brokered loads thus far this year. However I would never gear up and acquire assets without the ability to haul spot freight if needed. Eggs in one basket sort of thing. I’m not too proud to use a load board to find backhauls.

I understand, but if the trucks are not running, you still have to pay insurance, which we all know isn't cheap. If you have built relationships with brokers, they shouldn't hold that against you.dirthaller Thanks this.

I think I will park my truck, voluntarily suspend my authority, go run a Cat motor grader for a year or so and when I get sick of working for someone else…. I’ll just run under @Ruthless ’s authority so I don’t have to pay “new entrant” insurance premiums when I resume operations!OldeSkool, Old_n_gray and Ruthless Thank this.

Not true. People call it that but it's not what's happening. Ask me how I know.
'voluntary revocation', as they call it, is just giving it up. Start it again and you have to start everything again, including your rep with brokers if you work with them.Siinman, dirthaller and OldeSkool Thank this. -
My buddy decided to park his in ‘23 because of the slow down. Reinstated a year ago……21k annually for insurance! It doubled!
