I wonder what he expected before straps were invented, double dollied ropes no doubt.

Apologies for this Anglo response, feel free to ask for any translation.

Lashing was a very popular securement method not all that long ago. The regulations on this side of the pond still make allowance for rope, although it is rarely used.

It was a long time ago for me, my late brother and I in our small haulage business moved over to straps and ratchets in the 1970s, the proof of their durability is the fact that the wild pond that I swim in on my property now has one of those straps stretched across at each end, the only way I can get in and out.

Ur probably right. Looks like prefab structural with the paint on it so no chains.. maybe like 10 more straps would be ideal
Gatordude, OldeSkool, Albertaflatbed and 2 others Thank this. -
Crazy how stuff like that goes down the road in the Midwest but states like WA and ID would bust our chops for having a strap over the third tier instead of over the second tier.
I had to move one strap to appease Wally at the Lewiston ID scale one day. He didn’t like it when I asked if moving that strap would help keep the load on the trailer if I missed a curve and dumped the truck into the Lochsa.
