I don't have have dunnage right now because the jobsite I delivered to last week stole it! 6 brand new good quality Doug Fir 4X4's. First time I ever used em.
Luckily that load paid a little better than 2.20 a mile so I can probably buy some new ones.

If this was me. I would’ve gone somewhere to find/purchase dunnage to get that load, but not for RATE. OP seem more interested on staying home. A more simple explanation to the broker would’ve been like. I’m broke down at the moment. I have family issues to deal with. Truck is in the shop, and some….. but not the excuse I don’t have any dunnage. No wonder the broker said what he said. I’m done.

I hate it when they do that. I have pissed so many jobsites and warehouses off by telling them to not steal my dunnage. " But but but, we dont have any here on site"... No worries, ill sell em to you for $30 a board :D somehow they dont want them anymore after that

Yes, but dunnage doesn't last forever, and i just today was able to replace the dunnage I needed, It would be nice to only need to buy it once, and i dont have a yard with dunnage everywhere, im an owner op, and cant store everything

I had to replace my dunnage, i did that today, I'm at home, but still look to see whats out there, I was able to go and get, and cut the needed dunnage, but doubt I’ll call them, Especially sinew the load was just $2.20 a mile, and how red she was, I dont drive for a company, I’m an owner op, so no yard to swing by, and just grab more

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

I’m an owner op for the last 42 years, and keep dunnage all around, home, the yard etc. I always have access to it. Something for you to learn from. It all comes down the years of experience you have under your belt. If I come across a situation where I just happen not to have any(rare), if I’m at a job site, I’m walking all over and see what I find. 9 times out of 10 you will.
