If you look far enough back in the old Central thread, back to when I worked there, you will find similar posts from me.
I had one week where I wasted a good bit of 2 days running 150+++ miles out of route to get bad tires replaced on trailers I hooked loaded.
Picked up one at one point that the cross bar for the landing gear was broken off. No way the last driver could have put both legs down without doing the right side by hand separate. Hit 8 truck stops around the northeast looking for a replacement.
Trailers out of fuel. Pig tails under trailers unplugged so that all lights on back of trailer were out (easy to fix but a pain).

I was happy when I left and went to a company where all trailers were top notch. Even now back with a large company again I have only found a few lights out on trailers and the ones I have found with flats were slow leaks or faulty tires that you can tell blew at the receiver.
Landing gear all works well, not twisted or bent.
99% of the time the tandems slide great and all linkages are in good shape to pull the pins.
I do not miss a lease company. Well over half of the time that I hooked bad trailers at Central they had been dropped by lease OPs that did not feel they should use there time to get them fixed. I turned them in like you guys do. That is how I found out. I always followed up.

I have to agree on the damage.... but for me personally, the fuel doesnt matter to me since it only takes about 5 minutes to fill the reefer. You can spend that much time at some traffic lights. I actually prefer the reefer on an empty trl to be 1/2 or less just in case I need to pick up a beer load.

Tomorrow I need to try to make it 175 more miles to my 99 with a damaged tandem tire then take it to get fixed before going to my next 01. I think i can make it if i drive about 50 mph.

Cummins finally fixed my smoking issue, ended up needing new injector seals. I picked up a load home on tuesday in Ogden, delivered yesterday morning in Woodland, CA. I'm preset for a produce load out of Salinas, CA on Friday going to Sterling, IL but still don't have an appointment time. Gotta call my DM first thing to get an appointment time.

I love it when people complain to me about different issues they have...yesterday it was a guy that dispatch told he had to stay at the Stockton drop yard all weekend (he wasnt there when I went back today) and today it was an intermodal guy that was pissed that I was taking a rail trailer (dispatch told me to take it) and told me I couldn't take it, I assumed he called dispatch to tell them, then left 5 min later...I guess I was right =)

Stay in a dropyard all weekend? HA! Yeah right.

Every few days I have to walk around the truck to see if I can find the flashing neon "Complaint Department" sign. If I find it I'm destroying it.
