Howdy yall! I am located in Dallas, Texas. I am a diesel mechanic with a class a cdl. I’m thinking about getting a tractor and letting my father in law drive it. I fix it and drive it on the weekends. Would I make enough to pay my father in law, the truck, plus insurance? Rn I’ve been quoted a truck payment at 2700/m and insurance 1800-3k/ month. I wondering how much is it possible to make, if I’m a power only carrier. My father in law is only gonna get paid as a driver- he has no ownership. His choice not mine, I want to pay him fair . He has years of experience driving. I’m just a fish

You have a hazardous tanker endorsement?
austinmike Thanks this. -
Had one for ten years. It’s expired these days.

Try this company. I've known some drivers that worked for this company. Can buy a truck through them also. They had OTR/Regional/Local.
Ask lots of questions. I went through their orientation, but that was a long time ago. Didn't stay because I didn't want to be an 0/0.

How was it? Make good money? I heard that they require a 5 million insurance policyaustinmike Thanks this.

It was ok. Was a company driver. I think 5 million is the number I have heard.

I would have been if I'd taken the job. They had a $2000.00 down payment for the truck at that time. Later it was changed to $0 down payment.

Since you live in Dallas, go to the terminal in person and ask what the deal is.
