I process one of these and actually like it's compact design. Out of the box it will key a 4 watt carrier and modulate to 8 watts. Question I have is will it be ok paired up with a kl300p amp for long, seems that this particular cb radio has no way that I can see to open the bottom up, it almost looks the main 4 holding the bottom together are bevels or maybe torque screws but definitely not Allen's. I don't plan to open it up myself but wonder if anyone else has seen this? Thanks a bunch!

I also love the cobra ultra 3 and the 4 puts out even better, nothing has been done to them besides turning the tuning slug down to 3 watts and both have modulation pots opened up, no clipping on these 2.

Oh and I do own a uniden 510 that puts out even better than the other 3 I mentioned above but weighs a hair too much on plastic screws unless I superglue the screws lol.

The amp is rated for 10 watts max.

Thanks, I have had one incident with the amp running warm to the touch after talking back and forth to truck drivers during an eastbound interstate shutdown but other than that I've gotten good reports back within 10-15 miles. Having a 3ft fiberglass antenna on the roof seems to give me limited range but I tried a 4 ft and it kept hitting everything it seemed.
