The 50 was a 4 cylinder 60. The 55 was a total different animal. It was a 12 liter and they were kind of a throw away engine. Didn’t sell many and they are a completely different animal

Meh! What would you say ifn you seen a big one? This is only a half pint...you can get em twice this size.
They are good at makin fence posts lean over a bit. -
Guess trying to save money always backfires? Put the old turbo actuator on the new turbo and it decided to stop working..
so here we are waiting to programming a new actuator. Of course got to drop all the coolant once again because why not...

Draining and refilling the coolant is my least favorite part of any job that requires it

Speaking as a layman here of course, it’s certainly not a bad looking truck IMHO, so if everything else is still fairly sound I’d say a new engine is worth it.

Shop I worked at had one of these with about 15 foot of garden hose on it.
Just drop it in the bucket of coolant, climb up and plug it in and regulate the flow by folding the hose.
Empty the 1st bucket and drop it in the next one.

I was gonna ask if anybody got a better way than shuffling 15 gallons by hand ... I oughta try something like that
-
You set the buckets side by side and while you're up there when one bucket gets empty you lift it with the hose and drop it in the next one.
It worked really well. -
I have 2 of those orange low profile drain caddy’s with wheels and a handle. One is for oil only one is antifreeze only. I keep that same pump in my antifreeze one. I hate it just the same though lol
