I think Trashmiller is worst than western express these days. My orientation class was filled with guys straight out of the penitentiary (not that there’s anything wrong with that) We even dropped a guy off at an AA meeting. I made a big mistake going there because it slops up your job history.

    Tell me about it.

I keep getting asked why I was only there two months. Simple answer: I couldn’t live OTR on $200–$400 checks when I had a home in Commifornia, bills, and a family to support.

My power bill alone was more than some of those checks, and my cell phone bill was about half of one.

I’m used to being a $2K–$3K/week driver when I’m actually running. I’ve even had two $5K checks back-to-back before, followed by a smaller check because I finally said, “Nah, I’m exhausted. I’m working a short day and taking a break.”

That’s trucking. Some weeks hit big, some weeks are timing, home time, payroll cutoff, or just the way the loads fall. I understand that part.

What I don’t understand is being OTR, doing the job, staying available, and still getting $200–$400 checks while being told every week, “It’ll be on the next check,” or “Payroll cutoff was 5 PM and you finished at 6 PM.”

I didn’t leave because I couldn’t do the job. I left because I couldn’t keep working off payroll excuses, mystery deductions, and promises that the money would show up later.

Freymiller didn’t test my driving ability. They tested how long I was willing to work for free.

    mjd4277 Thanks this.
