In Canada they get caught with Chevy pickup plates on their rigs along with the general non cdl license plus drunk or stoned . IF you never cross a scale or hit a random inspection I guess it’s good to go. You’d think the 20 plus charges would stop someone from just changing their naming but it doesn’t appear that way..

This is unsettling, and makes you wonder just how many truck drivers fall through the cracks, still use MJ, or ones that are so disgruntled with their jobs, they figure what the heck, if I get caught, no big deal, it's a crappy job anyway. Here's some startling facts for you, and believe me, this is incredible,,,between 2020 and 2024, 186,000 positive truck driver drug tests for MJ, over 60% of all positive drug tests, AND,,,almost 35,000 in 2024 alone, a serious increase, with the legalization and declassification in many states. You may very well see a tractor trailer not far from a dispensary. So, what does that tell us, giant middle finger to the industry? And all the regulations for naught? For 40 years we've been grappling with this issue, and are we any closer? :dontknow:

Part of the problem is that some of these states allow it to happen. Some of these potheads think that they can smoke it or use CBD oils, edibles, etc. because their respective state relaxed the restrictions, even though the federal government still clearly states that it’s prohibited for CDL drivers! My company clearly states that almost monthly(including the consequences of its use)-even though they shouldn’t have to!

Man who works for the city here got a random drug test on a Monday. Showed he had been smoking the lettuce, they sent him home for a week with no pay, when he came back he is no longer allowed to drive city owned pickups. Glad I never had a craving to smoke or drink like some do….
