Codydenton70,
From one veteran to another I thank you for your service. Only a veteran knows the sacrifice and pride of having served. Not only in USN but 44 years OTR truck driver.wulfman75 Thanks this. -
So essentially since I have my ticket through melton im essentially guaranteed to go and do just fine with them tbh? -
They aren't going to fly you out there and just change their minds. Pass their agility test (if you served I would not in the slightest worry about this) make sure your group finishes all the practice loads in the securement barn, treat their road test exactly like your cdl road test and do everything by the book, and when you get in your trainer's truck, DO YOUR PAPER LOG. They are not kidding about that. If you get back to tulsa without it done, that is an instant fail.

Ok thank you is there anything else that I should definitely watch out for and do? -
Little things really. Follow directions, wear your ppe, climb up and down off the trailer the way they tell you to, stuff like that. On the backing test, you can get out and look as many times as you want and you should definitely do that. It's a starter company. As long as you're trainable and have a good attitude that's the most important thing.
Also, one thing specific to melton, we do not set the trailer brake when parking. Leave the red valve in, and only pull the yellow valve. Make sure the red one doesn't come out with it. If you don't pay attention to that you'll drag the trailer around because you're practicing with it empty. -
Ok thank you I really appreciate it im pretty nervous because I fly out tomorrow and I want to do amazing and actually work for melton so I dont want to fail out at all tbh do you think I will do amazing? -
Yes, you're in good hands there. Any time you have questions about securement or driving or anything the instructors there are great
