Is it just me or does UPS Freight SUCK?!??!?

UPS freight IS NOT a truck-load carrier.

 

Been in the LTL industry for over 18 years, I have seen many things that are really no different that what both UPS and Fedex did, you have back in the mid 1990's ABF bought Caralina Freight, Red Arrow, and a few more. This happens Yellow freight and Roadway consilidated and bought New Penn, USF Holland, & Reddaway. They all are now under the YRC corp. Hey think about it, UPS and Fedex just wanted in on a pc of the LTL freight.

 

I know a guy who drives for the truckload division and he says things aren't looking too good right now..Said drivers feel it may go the way of Arrow or get sold to the highest bidder..This division runs 48 states,just like any other common carrier..

 

Hmmm no..But they do have a truckload division..You may see a brown,blue or white volvo pulling a trl marked Overnite Special Services..they're totally separate from LTL..
When UPS bought Overnite,truckload was a part of the package..And they're not apart of the union..Just a regular 48 state common carrier.

 

Some of these complainers need to run OTR for a while ... the reality check would do them good ...

 

Your UPS union no longer has any power, if the union were to screw up your jobs there would be a surplus of drivers to jump into your trucks and take your jobs. Welcome to reality that most have had to deal with everyday. The Union has afford all of us a better job and benefits, and I thank them for that. But the time of there usefulness has come and gone and were all now subject to the same reality. Life holds no guarantee's except for now this moment, so don't waste it on crying over split milk.....

 

I'm pretty sure it's just him and UPS Freight does not suck. I agree with you that although the Teamsters set the bar, they no longer uphold it but UPS companies are a different animal. In 2013 at the end of Freight's contract that is not tied into the NMFA they'll be at .66 per mile and over 26 an hour at a company still making money. The decision they made to buy out of the multi-employer pension fund not only benefits the company but all drivers also.. UPS Freight certainly does not suck - it's just him.

 

well ups freight sucks because all jobs suck to a certain extent...but like jakebrake is saying the money is good if you can handle being watched like a hawk all day long and listening to stupid safety tips that management doesnt even follow

I don't much about upsfreight....but having worked for ups for over 10 years, I have seen a lot of changes...some good some bad....for the most part ups is really not that hard to work for, just do what is expected of you....integrity is everything, do not lie, be honest, most people that get fired and can not get their job back was because it was proven that they intentionally misled the company.....I came from package car, and recently went through the "feeder training" to get the cdl license...

 

anybody know anuthing about this company?
