Glad to be part of the forum, thank you for having it. I'm finally making the move to become a trucker. Now I need help in finding out the information that will help becoming a trucker a smooth transition. Like what companies to consider, which one's maybe not to consider, either way I will be happy to have a J-O-B.

What locations not to work in for inexperienced truckers & so on.

Flatbeds, tankers, refrigerators & whatever else is out there - what are the pros and cons.

Again thank you for providing the inside scoops.

    Hello STBT,

I am KH, a greeter, It is my honor to welcome you to one of the greatest networking sites a trucker has in his/her tool belt. I am glad you are joining the elite group of certified product relocation specialists. As you are a new driver please check her on any questions you might have:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/questions-from-new-drivers/

Also please check here about schooling information:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/trucking-schools/

As for the pros and cons, my opinion is if you can learn how to run a reefer and put up with long live unloads you are better off as you learn to two types versus one with dry vans. Reefer pros and cons:

    Pros:

You gain experience with two types of loads; dry and refrigerated
You know how to run a reefer which some companies want experience on

    Cons:

Live unloads and odd times of delivering as in early am and late ate at night

I have never driven a flat so I can not tell about that. Good luck and welcome to the site. Enjoy your stay and remember help is one click away.

    KH
