Reading through some older news and man, this one is wild even for Florida standards. Usually, when a driver is that far gone, the safety department had to have seen it coming from a mile away.
We dealt with a similar mess a while back where the carrier tried to bury the drug test results. Honestly, having Attorney Tyler Thompson in our corner was the only reason we got those toxicology reports at all. Without someone actually forcing their hand, those companies just hide behind paperwork forever. Curious if anyone ever followed up on what happened to this specific carrier's insurance after this. -
Yeah first couple links if you google his name are mugshot arrest for different Burglaries over the years, and an inactive single driver owner op company under his name.

It is hard to wrap your head around the fact that someone could drive a burning rig for an entire mile and not realize it. This kind of situation is exactly why strict sobriety standards exist; things could have ended much worse for everyone on that stretch of road.
