The ability to do that on a ramp is priceless though

If theres anything good about this engine , its that its fairly easy to work on. Had the dam thing out in 20 minutes and new one torqued down and programmed in the computer in like 45 mins.. and now i spent the rest of the afternoon driving with that anxious feeling of what the hell is gonna break next... Atleast i made it 18 miles from my delivery in the mornin so ill take what i can get

I opened a forklift repair/used sales/rental with 2 fellows. Against Hyster, Clark, Yale, and then Datsun, resident mechanics.
Smart money gave us 6 months, and after that, they said a year... We opened 9/79,sold it 3 /93, having lived well and made
a nice chunk on the sale.
Most gratifying statement I ever heard was by a friendly Baker dealer one day. He bet on us to sell and sublet rentals for him.
We were chatting in Memphis years later. He said: "Roger, it kinda loses its glamor after you prove to them you can do it."

We have all done some "miraculous" repair things in our day without the "necessary" tools, and some more impossible diagnosis.
But that done; and with an aged confidence, there is no need to revisit the labor and frustration again. Let them learn, we did...

Bad on the bad injector..... Good for the ROI on he trailer.... Get it delivered; change the rest of them to lessen the odds, and seek profitable loads.

I have a X15 coming in that needs a new cam and rockers. Figured it's a good opportunity to buy the shop manual, my newest set of books only covers up to the CM871.

Apparently printed books are a thing of the past. I guess I am a dinosaur for even wanting one.

Might be a bit janky but im sure you could print out the manual off quickserve. Maybe just 3 hole punch it in a binder or something, itll almost be a book .. lol

We think alike. I’d rather have a paper book any day. I actually like the 3 ring binder books better cause the pages lay flat

The new stuff that's designed to be viewed online isn't terrible. Not a fan of digitizing the old stuff though. Trying to follow a schematic across multiple pages in a PDF file is terrible. Much rather have a physical book instead.

This is a good training video (NMSA Learn & Live - Split Rim Wheel Repair) with graphic examples of the problem. I think they use some of that video you posted with the exploding tire, as well. :)
