While many seem to be learning about MOTUS now, this had been a long time coming and was announced some time ago.
Now the system, designed to function over the whole time is crushed with those who just 'found out' along with everyone who put it off.gentleroger, D.Tibbitt, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Was thinking the something. All the last minute people crashing it. I had mine filled out for a long time. Did not do my MC150 until last month but it is all set up well before deadline was due.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would people be rushing to sign up on Motus. Insurance is handled through the insurance filings. MCS-150 is up to date. What do you need through the Motus portal in the near future?? I guess at some point if they don't take MCS-150 filings through mail or the fmcsa web ask portal then you would need to get on there for that, but besides that I don't know what what the urgency would be to get on there would be.
I've had my own authority for over a decade now and I don't see any reason I need to be on Motus in the near future. Just maybe someday for an MCS-150 filing.Accidental Trucker, FloridaRetired and Ruthless Thank this. -
Anyone figured out how to get past the register as a supporting company page? I got stuck there too. I sent an e-mail to FMCSA. See if they say anything back.

I wouldn't wait too long.
They'll be transitioning to it from FMCSA portal and looks like you'll need to be on it to be compliant. Sort of like with the Clearing House a few years back.
By May 14th, they wanted carriers to log in to see which accounts on the portal were active. Maybe that was for them to filter out dead accounts and omit them when transitioning. Anyways, it looked like a preliminary step.
It may not affect you for the time being but it's better to be proactive and log in there at least once to avoid future problems and dealing with their hard to reach customer support when you really need to update your biennial report and MOTUS account is required.gentleroger and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
The whole purpose is geared towards making the DOT census number the only number and to weed out anyone who doesn't 'fit' so you will need to get on and verify your identity to avoid having your authority questioned =/or cancelled.

There is a piece about the difficulties Motus is having in today's Landline online.
