New CDL graduate looking for a company. I only have one speeding ticket for 20 mph over the limit, and it falls off in August. What companies would you recommend that train new drivers? Or would it be better to wait until the ticket falls off before applying?

How old is the ticket?
Where is your location? Not your address, just the zip code or state and nearest town/city?
Do you have any endorsements?
Maybe we can give you some companies to consider.austinmike Thanks this. -
If that ticket falls off in August, you better wait till it falls off because pretty much no reputable company will even remotely touch you with a 20 mph over a ticket even if you got it before you got your CDL… once it comes off, then what I would do if I were you is, I would request a copy of your driving record from the DMV of your state to ensure that it’s no longer on your driving record before you apply with any trucking company

How much time without work will there be between CDL school end and the ticket aging-out? Some of the better companies don't like stale/unused brand new CDLs. If I could wave a magic wand I would make newbies find the employer that will hire them before they can start any CDL school. For some reason newbies with big issues in their records seem to think CDL school is the perfect choice. There is no truck driver shortage so newbies with issues are less attractive to hire than newbies with no issues. Would you pay the same price for a new car with a big dent in the side as a car with no dent in the side of it?

In trucking, any ticket for 15 mph over or more is classed as reckless driving.
austinmike and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
If you are indeed a NEW CDL holder -- definitely wait until that ticket drops off....before applying ANY-where.

Schneider hired me....with NO previous CDL experience -- and my CDL was over a year old when that happened.
Sooooo....waiting is definitely the lesser of the evils.
In the meantime -- NO MORE TICKETS (or warnings)!!!

Apply for Western Express flatbed. If they deny you, you need to get that ticket off.
