Apply to Western Express?
Probably a pretty bad idea....
Here's why (WE had one of the worst scores):

I didn't say to work at Western Express, I said apply.OldeSkool, austinmike and TripleSix Thank this.

Knoxville is a good location for trucking jobs.
Probably better to wait until August.
Western Express might hire you now, but not sure if you'd make as much money as you do currently. -
Why even apply...with no end goal to work there?
It's a waste of time....
Best to just wait.

You can apply with these 4 companies and if you're rejected, apply again in August. Submit the short app. off each website and a recruiter will contact you.

Why do anything at all then right? Because if Western Express says yes right now, then there's a chance other companies would say yes as well. If they say no, then it would be highly unlikely anyone would take him. Western Express might say yes. And if they do, that means someone else might say yes too.bryan21384 Thanks this.

WE is a known "2nd chance" fleet.
Whereas...most of the other carriers have much higher underwriting standards.
So....your idea is a big "maybe"...at best.
Waiting a few more months won't matter much, anyway....since he's already full-time employed.

It might matter a lot. He could find out that there's another reason that Western Express wouldn't accept him. And then he has months to correct it. It would also give him a chance to get his resume ready on intelliapp, which is what most companies are going to use.bryan21384 Thanks this.

If he has been forthcoming otherwise with us -- he has no real reason to be concerned with rejections (i.e., no other criminal history, no other traffic violations, good work history).
Personally...if that speeding ticket is in fact set to come off this coming August...I wouldn't go near any application before Labor Day weekend.
As stated earlier, above...no worthwhile carrier will consider him with a speeding ticket that bad, anyway....

Why would you tell somebody to apply at a company but don’t work for them? isn’t that the whole idea of putting a job application in that you’re looking for employment?
