I didn't put one in, thought about it. When I built the truck I had a really good factory unit so that's what it got.
[edit] I'm adding just A/C. The rolling chassis didn't have it, the cab I put on did.

Wow, 17% air restriction on brand new filters and never pulled a load? It doesn't breathe very easy does it.

Kinda miss the ##### work. Rebushed a walking beam suspension on an old feed mixer today and not going to lie, I kind of enjoyed it.

    Speaking of walking beam suspensions:

I have Chalmers on our dump truck. The walking beam just sort of sits there and is not really attached to anything. On one side it doesn't stay centered.

What's the solution, new beam and new saddles welded on to the axles? It works fine but looking at it bothers the crap out of me.

Honestly I've seen exactly 1 truck with Chalmers. Pretty much everything built the last 25 years is air ride in these parts. Rare to even see walking beams on trucks anymore.

You're calling me an old #######, aren't you? Lol

I see a lot of Chalmers on front discharge concrete trucks and dump trucks around here, and a lot are new. Don't see many rubber pad Hendricksen anymore, but I have one of those too!

Cdemars316, cke, sawmill and 4 others Thank this.

Mine does the same thing. Empty they wiggle all the way back. Go through a ditch they're all whopperjawed
Chalmers on their site somewhere has a kit to weld in where they wear, that might help. If I remember there's literature showing how to measure wear

Everybody around here with hills wants Chalmers in their silage trucks now.
