Oh nice, yea I haven’t gotten there yet because I’m just focused on school.
Once I began school I mainly focused on different states inspections and all that. But occasionally I’d get like A bunch of reels about rates.

The rates reels are for trucking companies and owner-operators.

So I’ve been teaching myself to understand the safer and sms information by searching these companies.

I will point out I’ve had 6 people recommend I go western express and almost the same amount go to swift because they offer consistent loads, however their stuff for violations and accidents concerns me for my own personal record so they are not even being considered.

Out of the list you provided I’ve only been able to really find one decent company and it was Halvor, their violations for this year are mainly lane violations and minor speeding, others have loads of equipment violations and an alarming few have personal conveyance violations, am I correct to assume the worst with those that those drivers were possibly instructed to lie and try to cut time or make up time off the clock? If so I don’t want to enter a kind of situation like that because I’m trying to not get pigeon holes into an unfavorable position.

After I had a better understanding of how to read the sms report, whoever decided the layout for it honestly needs to be sentenced to some kinda of punishment of minor inconveniences, I went back and looked at Mr P. and their violations were definitely read wrong by me at first because they have relatively very very few bad ones and more just simple lane violations.

I didn't list any companies that I, personally, wouldn't work for as a new driver.
I don't give credence to reviews which are usually from disgruntled drivers.
If any were caught falsifying their E-logs, it's on them, not the company.

I like Western Express because they fill a niche and hire drivers no other companies will hire.
They give drivers with serious problems a 2nd chance or 3rd chance.
Many times I do recommend Western Express to a select group of drivers that have had serious problems with criminal records or infractions on their MVR.

Ah okay, I didn’t look at any reviews for them, I was on the FMCSA safer sms logs viewing their reports.

A comparison I can relate that to in the retail world was they are like Winn Dixie was in my area, Publix and Walmart won’t touch them so they went to Winn Dixie, everyone deserves a second chance if they’ve shown to have learned from their mistakes.

When I was researching companies for you, had to look for ones that will let you take the cat and your girlfriend. Those are the only ones I found. Still, ask about that before accepting a job offer and make sure, the companies I posted, still let you take the cat and girlfriend. Policies can change.

Thanks for reminding me of that, I began entering interviews for really anything I’ve interviewed with a list of hard questions for the company, they are pretty generalized but do occasionally get tailored for my needs. I have been doing that since about 2022 I think, it allows me to see how a company handles situations and gives me a broad idea of their approach most of the time.

Ive also been told by everyone that when it comes to anything trucking, anything at all get it in writing, many people have specifically advised me to refer phone conversations to email to remove any doubt and to establish a paper trail.

If you start demanding everything in writing and/or Emails, you won't be hired. People telling you to do that, don't know what they're talking about. Trucking companies will think you're a trouble maker.
Remember, you're applying for a truck driving job, not an astronaut job.
