Just be patient with them. It will take some time to get used to their new home.

It took mine a few months for her to eventually come around. For what felt like an eternity she wouldn’t come near me. I suspect she was abused, probably by my #### stepson since he has a history of that ####. Now look…

We have two orange brothers that were about that size when they found us. They live outside but are well fed and happy as hell. Also, the best hunters that we have had, and though I'm not wild about cats my bride has always had them around. Ours are named Moe and Joe, for Moe Bandy and Joe Stamply. I can't tell them apart so just call them MOJO, regardless which one I'm looking at. Those two are why we don't have a mouse problem around the equipment or the shop!
Good on you Russ for taking them in. One of our dogs loves chasing them, and it's a game to them as well. He also curls up with them when the game is done.cke, austinmike, High Stepper and 21 others Thank this. -
Cats I talked to said did not make any difference, Juist quantity. Peggy was a cat person and we always had a cat. I had to handle vet visits, etc, she fed and took care of.
Chloe was a ""Tiger Striped" castrated male, big. I would take him to the vet in my Isuzu PU, and he would dive down to the farthest corner behind the seat as we left the house. Time we hit main street he had decided to make nice and beg, Big bast.rd would come out and crawl up to the top of my bucket seat and drape across it. From behind looked like I had a tiger skinned neck piece.
On the dog and them getting along....If he goes after one of them and misses his first clamp down, he will prolly never bother a cat again ever.
We had a big ole white cat. He lounged on our front porch. a sunny 20' x 5' concrete. Surveyed his scene and might get up and go around back
to a drainage ditch to clear out whatever lived there. Our street ended there in a circle. Various dogs would wander up the street and come to the end and start to circle. He would just lie there. Occasionally a new one would step over the curb into the yard.
Cat would leave the porch like a rocket, bounce right up in front of the dog and soddenly appear to be 3 sizes larger, and hissing like a panther.
Say, 3 out of 5 times, dog would catch the fast train out. Of a couple who stayed too long, had trouble jarring his claws off their nose. -
If you can find someone with a cow that would give you some raw milk, would probably be the best. Although cats will drink 2%, just won’t stick so wellcke, High Stepper, 1951 ford and 12 others Thank this.
