Yes dry bulk. Lots a dry materials hauled in bulk tankers.
-
Dry bulk commodities include:
We hauled lots of flour. Hauled other stuff, but mostly flour.
- Plastic pellets and powders (e.g., resin for manufacturing)
- Sand, clay, limestone, and aggregates
- Fertilizers and agricultural products
- Starches and other food-grade powders
- Industrial minerals and chemicals
navypoppop Thanks this. - Plastic pellets and powders (e.g., resin for manufacturing)

Thanks...I thought @Chinatown meant dry bulk cryogenics...and I was like, "WHAT'S THAT!?!"Chinatown Thanks this.

We also hauled liquids such as acids. The most odd load I hauled, on the liquid side, was a special glue used in microwave popcorn bags.

Many plants that you deliver to are pretty noisy to begin with. Using ear protection is not a bid deal.Speedy356 and navypoppop Thank this.

I think people misunderstood when I mentioned how loud tanks silos and airgas terminals are.
Thats with earpro them still being loud or very harsh vibrations.gentleroger Thanks this. -
As an update, I've received additional inquiries from other recruiters, involving fuel hauling, milk hauling and LTL for Kwik-Trip, KAG, KEMPS and Dayton Frieght.
As a side note, I'm still waiting to hear back from Airgas, so at the moment that may still be an option. However; the last few posts mentioned above have made some compelling arguments against Airgas. The additional options have my head swimming and the post office will always be there, so I'm willing to put a pin on that one.
Overall, the underlying goal is to make 100K annually, while accepting the reality that I'll be working third shift with overtime, plus being local and home daily.
So as to reframe the question, what would be the pros and cons of pulling tankers (i.e be it fuel/cryo/dairy) or Dayton Freight? In any regard, I'm not willing to work on a dock, I've been there already. -
In this economy -- the private fleets are where it's at....

-- Lnavypoppop Thanks this. -
What about private fleet for a while to then cryo o/o years later (not lease, but own truck individially and work tor Genox, LGT, or another cryo company that allow outside truck cabs?)
