It's funded by Commiefornia itself. Honda had the FCX Clarity hydrogen car in SoCal in 2008 and discontinued it in 2014. I read an article written by an auto/truck engineer and he explained why hydrogen vehicles would never be mass produced. It made a lot of sense. Sounds like another Solyndra. Commiefornia has money for illegals and this but can't help the homeless.....

At least they won't repeatedly catch fire after a wreck like an EV does.

Water vapor is a greenhouse gas. California needs to get ahead of the game and start regulating it now.

Got an engineering mate who went from EV tech to hydrogen and back to EV again. Can't recall the exact reason but he said hydrogen is not going to happen. Even it were too, if its not made from renewables than its no cleaner than fossil fuels anyway.

Think E trucks are possible, but manufacturers need to come together and go a swap and go path. Something that can be automated and laser accurate in 5 minutes on major lines with while the driver takes a break, would be a good start. This idea or wrapping a truck around a battery is engineering and ego at its dumbest. The reality of the truck is stuffed if a battery drops a cell is warranty at it dumbest. This idea of charging batteries in the smallest amount of time is something no grid will ever cope with. A quiet responsive truck that has universal battery swap that can be replaced easily and not sink a grid is what dumb politicians should be telling manufacturing what will happen, other wise the rest is manufacturers wasting their own money.

I found it interesting that they say the carbon footprint may not be as great as it looks depending on the infrastructure to produce the hydrogen - something noticeably absent from most conversations centered around EV's and electricity generation.

yep, if EVs are not powered by renewables they are no cleaner.
