*&$%# FedEx! Not that I want to offend any FedEx drivers on here, but WTF??? Why does that company have to push the drivers so hard they have to take chances like this? Granted, it will be blamed on the driver because he or she was in control of the truck at the time, but I understand if you don't make your appointed meeting place on time you get in a world of hurt. 55 mph average....WTF, FedEx?

The companies that contract with FedEx to pull that freight sign contracts that say if the load is late they will pay FedEx what it costs them to reimburse customers. If its a load of next day mail that's a lot of money if that trailer doesn't make it to the airport on time. Customers get reimbursed the full amount of the postage if its guaranteed next day service. Planes don't wait.

$$$$$$ over safety? Nothing is that important. If the driver can't get there safely refund the money.

I don't know why these idiots don't have FORCE MAJEURE written into their contracts.
Force majeure (French for "superior force"), also known as cas fortuit (French) or casus fortuitus (Latin), is a common clause in contracts which essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described by the legal term "act of God" (e.g., flooding, earthquake, volcanic eruption), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract. However, force majeure is not intended to excuse negligence or other malfeasance of a party, as where non-performance is caused by the usual and natural consequences of external forces (e.g., predicted rain stops an outdoor event), or where the intervening circumstances are specifically contemplated.

I don't know, I don't care if my package is late if it a safely issue. Better getting my package in one piece then all wrap up with duct tape...

This last winter...Every time I went across Wyoming there was a jacknifed FedEx ground truck somewhere on I-80...It got to the point where my wife and I would bet on where we would see the jacknifed FedEx each trip!

Well Dave....Ya see? There's a right way and a wrong way for everything!

Any trainer worth his salt will tell you that if you go off the left side of the road and lay it over on the left side, You won't be able to get the drivers side door opend and you might be trapped in there for hours!

If you lay it over on the right side...No problem!:biggrin_2559:

Always feel free to ask me about these things Dave..."I'm a professional!!!!":biggrin_25523:
