By due diligence do you mean you didn't look anything up about this company before you started? Also HR is only there to keep a company from being sued, they aren't your friend and aren't there to support or help you.

what about vista didn’t you like? Did you want to work 4 days a week, drive 300 miles a day and make $3000 since you’re a veteran?

• Why does ANYONE buy into it when a company says that they "care" about our veterans? I've talked to many ex-military drivers in my time and the most any of these companies cares about is the G.I. Bill that pays for the perspective driver to join the company. That is if you went to school with said company of course.

• See above. Moving on.

• I guess no one told you that Vista Trans Holdings aka VS Carriers is another Crapcago company that is known for the antics that you're talking about. I went there like an idiot three years ago as a last resort. Yep. I was a ####### alright and I'm willing to admit all of that and more. They offer 1099 or W-2 but can and will find ways to hurt you. If you were to find my original comment about this job, you'd see it., Don't forget about the "escrow" that they take when you're first employed by them, but you have to fight to get it back. I had to threaten litigation to get back my $1,250. As far as being put out on the side of the road, that didn't happen to me. I just took the truck back to the terminal in Lake In The Hills, IL and flew myself home. If they'd pulled this stunt on me, I'd still do the same thing and then the FMSCA would be in touch.

• How about a list of stuff that they WON'T do?

• They had one foul up with me and I left. How in the hell can you take the word of a warehouse over another place that tells you that your driver did every thing correct for your load, and still charge the driver over $2.5k? Vista can and will because this is what made me depart them. Couple that with a dispatcher who had an attitude problem and stranded me in the Northeast, while requesting that I be fined $500 for her mishap that I told her was coming. They gave her the $500 and then I was bounced around to another dispatcher who was cosplaying a man but had tendencies of a woman. After he stranded me in WV on a weekend, see above. They really don't want you standing up for yourself.

• HR has never had the interest of the employee in mind at ANY job. They only resource the company. I think we've all learned that through trial and era or when we try getting comfortable sitting on our bloody bottoms from the lashing we took. And the minute they would've shut off the fuel card on me, I'm parking their truck in a secure area and leaving. Then I would challenge them saying that I abandoned their truck by showing DAC and anyone else where they shut off my fuel card and left me stranded.

• I had HR call me numerous times when I was there wanting my opinion on the company. I told them that I had nothing to say to them. The lady told me that I was "being rude" whenever I would say that. I was always taught that if I didn't have anything nice to say, to keep my mouth shut. There was no way that I was going to say something that could possibly implicate me if taken the wrong way. Besides, it wasn't like any of our gripes would fix anything.

• This can be true. Imagine trying to be a good employee and they do this. Imagine they slip seat your truck as you go on off time and come back to all of your stuff being stolen. Yeah, they care. NOT!

• What exactly are you going to prevent? What are you trying to accomplish? For every one of us who tried it and failed, there are 10 more coming who may fall for it and/or succeed where you and I failed. I couldn't make Vista work due to the fact that I have too much pride to be talked down to like I'm a second class citizen. I've left many a job for that reason. All you can do is allow those that go to get their lashings, suffer the bloody bottom and move on. You aren't preventing anything.

 

More than likely, they told him that he could make x amount of dollars a week like most Crapcago companies tell drivers. Then he got hosed. It happens.
