24v for starting only. Then you had to flip a switch for 12v. Can’t do 24v for anything else. 12v was automotive standard for batteries, lighting, and electrics starting in 1964. Another reason the new volvos are gonna cost in the future. No one makes anything electrical in the standard aftermarket to run 24v.it Will be volvo specific at whatever they choose to price it at.
New Volvo's, anyone driving one? Do you like it?

Why does it cost you $200 for oil and a filter?
And don't bother telling me over that 170k you did oil and filter changes every 6k miles for around 7 bucks each time. -
Yes well that's a good point. Now I think of it synthetic oil is $80 and a filter $15. So $95, and yes every 10k km (6000 mile) I change the oil. Been incredibly cheap to run and reliable. I'm sure manufacturers can do it when they desire too, but its probably not the best profits model for a company.

Mine it a company truck but I believe Volvo is doing 50,000 or 60,000 miles oil changes that’s what I was told I would have to look the manual and see what it says. Freightliner is something like $300 I believe for the filters for and oil change

You can see this guys spec. He has the bigger engine and 14 speed Ishift and 2.05 axles.
Joel Morrow of Facebook has all kinda crazy info on his truck getting like 10MPG. He really believes in the Volvo engine design.

After reading this thread, I think I'm going to squeeze another 600K miles out of the trusty Cascadia.
Lifetime ( 700K miles ) 7.9 MPG
Payment= $0.00
Insurance, all in, $175.00 month
Three computers, replaced one, chassis controller $5K.
Times on hook = 1 ( computer )jaffles, BoostedTeg, 1999 C12 and 2 others Thank this. -
is it true if ya dont wear the vulva flipflops when driving it'll derate 100hp ?
-
I put a 99k miles on a 26 860. Mechanically is was great no issues at all that said it was way to heavy of a truck. Hooked up to a reefer I could only scale out 42k with quarter tank of fuel in the truck. I don’t think the ride quality or cab noise is any better than a cascadia.

That sounds cheap, you doing the oil changes yourself ?
