I know I am late to the game but
Zoe was a very shy dog and did not like for people she didn’t know to pet her - or more accurately try to pet her. I was just her personality- because there was never a more spoiled dog (she only drank bottled water on the road). That never changed her entire life - she rarely growled and never snapped - she would just turn away and hide behind me.
she wasn’t scared at all - she just didn’t want to be touched by strangers. If they gave her space she sometimes would find her way to them.

My guess would be late 60’s or real early 70’s. Those rounded archways tipped their hand.
Lots of folks relocate to retire out there, money goes farther, longer, and a good local community to draw from for caregiversFeedman, Gatordude, Cowpuncher575 and 8 others Thank this. -
They got them all over in the backcountry of the Ho — folks snowmobile and CC ski to them— what got me to think’n about itFeedman, Cowpuncher575, sawmill and 9 others Thank this.

It’s definitely a thought, but I have it so good at work that I don’t think I can leave. I lease a Lexus suv through them for $162 a week. That includes insurance, payment, tires, and all maintenance on it. Get 25,000 miles a year on that. I pay $33 a week in health insurance for a family of 5.
6% match for 401k, plus after all of that I’m taking home around $2k a week. It’s not huge money, but all of the benefits make it really hard to leave. It’s truly the best place I’ve ever worked. For once in about 12 years I truly enjoy my job. The problem being that we only have yards on the west coast.Feedman, Gatordude, Cowpuncher575 and 13 others Thank this. -

First place I bought was a 2800 sq ft house, 48x72 pole barn, bank barn drive through corn crib/ steer barn, and a nice grain bin on 4 acres, paid 185,000 for it. Payments were just under $900/mo. I got lucky on the interest rate, had it locked at 2.8%. But the farm we bought several years ago is still only 7k a month, so 4k a month to rent sounds ridiculous to me

It’s absolutely ridiculous. But I also won’t buy a house and be strapped for cash just to own a house.Feedman, Gatordude, Cowpuncher575 and 9 others Thank this.

I would also mention, beings that I’m 100% self-employed, and a farmer to boot, I don’t have anything in the neighborhood of the benefits You just listed off
Feedman, Gatordude, Cowpuncher575 and 14 others Thank this.
