Like one poster said before this may increase driver pay. Figure like this if you as a company can find a driver who fits all or most of the criteria under the new CSA2010 regulations then you better hold on to that man with a death grip. This means companies will really be competing for GOOD drivers to fill those seats. Gone will be the days of drivers just being expendable. God forbid these companies actually have to stand by the propaganda pushed to us by their recruiters. (Puts the ball in our court to a certain extent.)
I don't agree with all the new rules but then the trucking industry from the management side and corporate side need to get on the ball when it comes to maintaining the equipment we drive and haul. They have owed alot to the nation's drivers in regards to real safety and awareness. Some companies you have to fight tooth and nail with to get the little things accomplished: much less something that could get you possibly put out of service. If my score is on the line I will not play any games when it comes to getting even minor repairs completed. Our livelihood absolutely depends on it.
Watch DM's everywhere go nuts when you tell them I can't move this load because I got a trailer light out and it is missing a mud flap and I will come across a coop before a truckstop. Betcha the terminals will start passing out bulbs the same way they pass out trippaks. LOL
Not to get ahead of myself I believe that the small mom and pops might go the way of the dinosaur. They'll definitely be more level 1 inspections and the DOT will be checking with a fine tooth comb so everybody better have their ducks in a row (driver and company).scottied67, JustSonny and rookietrucker Thank this.
