Smart move would be stay with concrete.

I wouldn't make any move with a reckless on my record. Especially with one so new.

I wouldn't give up any construction job to go to OTR.

I would retire from construction, and if the OTR desire still bothered me I would look into as a retirement gig.

Would any OTR training company hire a 21 year old with a reckless a year old? Very doubtful

 

Had to look up what PJC means..guessing you’re from NC since they’re the only state offering that option..

Imo, you’re screwed for a few years. It’ll be on your record and background checks.

Between planning and living in the vehicle while meeting someone else's expectations is a lot more than washing out the barrel.

 

Thanks for describing PJC. It's sounds similar to Deferred Adjudication. You plead guilty, then you stay out of trouble for a designated period like 1 year, then the judge removes the record of the conviction.

 

Just for clarification, there is no difference between your “personal” driving record and your “commercial” driving record. Your driving record is your driving record. Insurance isn’t going to overlook a reckless driving just because it was in a car and not a truck.

Stay with the concrete gig and excel at that while you clean up your MVR. Especially if you think Western Express is beneath you. If the company your with is reputable, then opportunity for advancement and increased pay will present themselves. You are way ahead of folks your age who have no clue on which way is up.

If you can gut it out for a year without getting into trouble, that's going to be really good for you. You'll have experience at a well known company. Experience is tge most valuable thing to have in anyone of work. Combine experience with a clean record and endorsements, you'll write your own ticket. Endorsements means almost nothing without experience. Don't look at reviews....that's those folks story. Write your own story.
