Does the State of Oregon have a castle doctrine rule?

 

Castle doctrine stops applying once the intruder is fleeing.

 

If one gets injured in any attempt to commit a crime, all bets are off. If they weren't there up to their shenanigans then they would never have been injured in the first place.

 

That's how it should be, but in many states that isn't how it is. Our legal system needs an enema.

 

Just keep a couple of giant Rottweilers roaming around. In Oregon trespassing waives the owner of liability.

 

I will never understand the logic behind this. If you’re breaking into someone’s property or stealing someone’s property risk of serious bodily harm or even death is the risk you assume for engaging in that activity. Period! Just like if you drive Recklessly, a risk of a crash and injury or even death is what you assume. We live in the twilight zone, I swear. No accountability for anything.

 

You can sue for whatever you want. The important part is whether it succeeds or not. There's been many lawsuits that have been spun by the media as ridiculous like the hot coffee lawsuit, but in reality sometimes the truth is more complicated. The devil is in the details.
