Hurricane Express, Oklahoma, the truth (copies of lease)revealed about their lease purchase program!

That don't look like a recipe for success.

 

Hurricane express is known for ####ty business practices. At this point theres so much information out theres no reason anybody should be working for them. Why anybody would look at that paperwork and sign it is beyond me. Making that kind of money and yet taking on so much risk is the dumbest thing ive ever seen. If you wanna be an owner just go be a company driver and save up to buy a truck. Why do so many people do lease purchase?

 

They did you a huge favor by canceling your lease and you may not understand why currently. If your fuel was free you couldn’t make much of a profit long term (if any) running for the rates you posted. If you take anything away from this experience it should be that there is a reason it takes money invested to be successful in any business. If you can walk right in to a “business opportunity” with no money, it’s a scam.

 

I assumed they went out of business since I haven’t seen any of their fugly looking trucks around.

 

The pay is going down when fuel goes down because they are factoring the FSC into the mileage rate and from the looks of it they are paying about .90-1.00 per mile and throwing in a FSC somewhere in the middle of Breakthrough Fuel current FSC rate.

I'm not sure of their customer base vs. broker usage but if they have actual contracted freight they are probably making in between 1.50 and 2.00 per mile on top of what they are giving the driver.

 

I thought this too actually until a few days ago when I saw one south of KC. A Freightliner with a bunch of chicken lights. If you’ve ever heard the expression “lipstick on a pig..” you get the gist of what I was looking at.

 

They are super active on Facebook posting settlements and defending their practices to "prove" it isn't all a scam. I have heard they are fairly lawyer happy or at least like to threaten legal action a lot to current/ex drivers who bad mouth them.

 

HeLL no because there are way to many super truckers out there that need to have the title, I mean cmon' who doesn't need a 18in drop visor, 4ft tall gear shifter, limo dark tinted winders, 6in spiked lug covers, gangsta sound system, experimental sour paint color & ooooo yeah the Griswald Xmas lights.
I'm sure i'm missing a couple of other minor details but cowboy X will be a long soon to defend his/her pride & joy.

 

Last one i saw was in california and it was a 579 plastic pete with air cleaner lights like you would put on a pete that actually has air cans on it.. lol
