since i cant really read the DAC at all i am goign to post it
I am confused...would the accidents be posted on my DAC, mine says 0 in both categories
but i tell the recruiters and i know they are not looking at the DAC, since nothing has been showing on it since 2008
i tell them i had an accident and i feel they might just be taking that for what i say
i was thinking what if i dont tell them and let them find out
i have been known to offer more information then is needed

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

That tells a recruiter your were involved in an "at fault accident" which was NOT DOT reportable. That is what it looks like to me.
I should mention why:
work record: unsatisfactory safety record <-- This means you were at fault.
accident/incident record
Equipment was involved in an occurence or act that produced unintended injury, death, property damage of any type, or resulted in the equipment requiring a tow(other then mechanical breakdown) while assigned to the driver regardless of fault. adverse information is reported for 7 years. <--- This means you were involved in an accident or very well got caught by the company or DOT without your logbook up to date, safety belt not on or something like that.
number of DOT Recordable accidents less then 7 years old: 0 <--- Were not involved in an accident involved injury, fatalities, or the truck never got towed.
number of Non DOT recordable Accidents/Incidents less then 7 years old: 0 <--- means your were not involved in an accident according to company policy.
either of these last 2 are probably 0's because of a clerical error. One of them should show up as a 1. More then likely the DOT Recordable Accident should be a 1. -
That doesn't seem like it's the complete report. (minus the redacted license number, etc). According to the way I read that, they are trying to say YOU damaged the truck, You didn't have an accident, or incident, YOU did something to the truck. That's what I read out of it because of the wording "property damage of any type". You could have simply removed a sticker and they could call it "property damage".
I would NOT LIE on an application. If the accident you mention (cause I seem to be missing something, maybe from an other thread or something) falls within the time line that is asked about on an application (usually the last three years) you have to tell them. But to the best of my understanding, you only have to answer what is ASKED of you on the application. If there is something else in your background that they don't like, they can't say you "lied" for not telling them. They should have checked you out properly for anything that concerned them, as well as the DOT requirements. -
Got the rest of the story. It should show 2 non dot reportable. you have to tell the company about it if it falls within their time. Otherwise you've falsified the application.
-
There was an "occurrence", not an accident...therefore no accident can be reported.
OCCURRENCE----fairing damaged behind sleeper, mirror taken off, door damage to trailer, trailer door removed when pulling out of a dock
the biggest negative factor in this report to a prospective employer is the:
1. REHIRE-----NO
2. UNSATISFACTORY SAFETY RECORD
Good luck driver...the way things are today, you are going to need it!
Your question thread title is....AM I SHOOTING MYSELF DOWN? No, you shot yourself down by a poor safety concern on your own part (so they put on your DAC)...kinda like a Japanese Zero with Pappy Boyington on his six...just a matter of time before he goes down in the water! -
My DAC has the same statement under the heading of "Accident/Incident record" with 0 reportable and 0 unreportable accidents / incidents.
I thought that was just a description of the types of things that went in that block. and not nessesarily that you had an accident or incident.
work record was satisfactory. so, does that actually mean they reported some sort of incident on my DAC? Because I did not have any incidents or accidents.
-
Good question! Not sure on that, but I see what you are saying...anyway in his case the unsatisfactory statement and the no rehire is a killer!
-
There are 100's of trucking companies in Ohio that do NOT use DAC !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Duh !!!!!!!!
The sooner you get away from DAC, the better !!!!!!!!! -
thats right. Mine says the same thing. It doesnt mean it happened, its just a description of that section.
I had a couple of incidents if i told about them i would get denied if i didnt..i got a job. Funny, huh. Not on dac at all. Hell, my dac doesnt even say i've ever driven a truck! -
100's? Like who?
