I have definitely figured that out about the other companies lol. I am out to try and get a place I can make a career not just drive for a year and want to leave honestly.
Lmao I have heard all the Swift jokes because my husband thinks they are hilarious. And the way they have tried to pressure me into immediatly choosing their school and going to training it would not surprise me if there was some truth in it.

Okay and some questions about OD I have:
what trucks and what are they like?
As a newbie what would I be looking at paywise?
Last, when my mom drove for them she did the training program and had to sign a contract for one year; is that still the case? -

@Gomer1969 don't you drive for OD? If so, summoning your time and expertise to help this new driver.
hdtennessee92 Thanks this. -
I appreciate you all getting me help and answering all my questions! I tend to overthink crap so I always ask way too many questions
Ya’ll have really been a great intro to the trucking world!bryan21384 Thanks this. -
There should be an OD sub section somewhere on this site..I’ll try to find it and link it.
Will probably have a ton of info on it you could skim through.
Here you go.

Thank you! I appreciate it!

It isn't overthinking if you're really trying to seek information and knowledge. It's a wealth of it on here. The only time I think someone overthinks is if they can't decide on which company to work for and come up with retarded reasons to not make a decision or begin their career. In any event, there's no such thing as too many questions. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Me personally, I'd rather come across a new driver that has too many questions versus one that thinks they've figured the whole industry out because of YouTube. I already get the vibe you're going to do great!firemedic2816 and hdtennessee92 Thank this.

Go to Old Dominion and apply for dock-to-driver program.
Might be ok to mention your Mother was a trainer there at one time. -
