It ain't trucking, but it's a truck. I retired from trucking after 40 years and went to work at a mine to take me to full retirement. I got a real hate-on for the modern trucking industry and trucks. But then I started missing having a truck to play with. So I found this and got it for $7000.00
    1980 L9000. Has 100,000 KM and 1885 hours. 6V92TA Detroit, 335 horsepower with an Allison HT740.

I was going to pull the fire body off it and make it a flatbed to haul my antique tractors to the shows, but everything still works so I decided to leave it as is for now. It was still in service when I bought it.

I just have a blast driving it. Cool to hear that sound again after all the Detroit powered Ford dump trucks I have driven. it accelerates pretty good but it's geared for 60 MPH wide open.

That is very cool! Will be a great toy hauler. Not that big a deal to put in a different ratio chunk. Then you will like driving it even more!!!

I used to dream of an LTL9000. The style,....just....man.
Glad you enjoy the ol times. I often do that same thing. Fund something that brings back old memories and buy it just to run it for a while.
