You're going to be fine. It takes a bit to maintain clutch control consistently. Especially when you're wiped out.
Remember the Addams Family theme? The part where they snap their fingers? Clutch out, clutch in. I'm sure you heard that before. Once you get with a trainer, may be they'll show you how to float. Once you learn that, I doubt the clutch will be used much.

Take a breath, relax, you'll be fine. You're never going to learn to walk on water!:biggrin_25525:

Thanks, JD, I'll not follow you on the water. :biggrin_25514::biggrin_2559:

It is just the frustration coming out. I know tomorrow will be a better day. The instruction here couldn't be any better. I just take pride in trying to operate any machinery in which I have control in a smooth mode. It is the same as when I have started anything new. I want to instantly master it. Mentally, I know that is expecting too much, and I certainly don't put those expectations on anyone else, but with me, I am just wired that way.

behave yourself and I wish you clear skies and safe travels when you return to the road on the 26th.

    Yepper, same here.
I'm in the hotel in Gary as I type. I have to do a checkout drive in the morning, then the new [to me] Qualcomm, and the new [to me again] delivery macro training. And then, I get to drive back to Woodhaven, load my truck for this time out, and then be ready to roll Friday morning.
I better take a couple breaths myself, eh?
If I don't have the chance later, happy travels to ya, and remember, YOU WILL BE FINE!!!!:biggrin_2559:

This is how my instructor explained timing the clutch. Think of the Addams Family theme song and the finger clicking. Each click you hit the clutch and shift at the same time. Keep the timing that way. It worked for me. I had an issue down shifting but I got it. Hope I explained it decently.

    Day six is complete!

My driving test went better than yesterday. I still had a few hiccups, but everything went safely - nothing like yesterday. The one student that could not understand the paperwork involved got sent home today. He made the statement this morning before he knew he was going home, "I have already been to school. They need to get me in that truck to practice. I don't need no more learnin' in dem books!" Needless to say, if you don't put any effort into what they are teaching, you will get sent home. The instructors tried their best to work with him and give him a chance, but he either couldn't or wouldn't get trip planning, logging, and the "extras" involved. I think he just wanted to hold a steering wheel.

Late this afternoon we got our driver numbers and Comdata cards. We still have some paperwork to complete tomorrow, but NO MORE HOMEWORK :biggrin_25514: - well, we need to complete our logs and make sure they are up-to-date for the week. No big deal.

So I guess now I am right there on the line of being a pumpkinhead!:biggrin_2559:

Hopefully, I will hear from my TE very soon. West Memphis will be my home OC.

Good luck to everyone starting class Saturday.

I hope your classes and drive went well. I am sure it did. Did they have any water there for you to practice walking on?:biggrin_255:

Just so you know, if you are a smoker you will be on the second floor. If not; first floor. There is a Denny's right beside the hotel that you can walk to in about 2 minutes. If you tell them you are a Schneider student, they give you a 20% discount. Also, very near is a Taco Bell/Long John Silvers, McDonald's, What-A-Burger, convenience store, CVS, and a grocery store. There are microwaves and fridges in the rooms. Even if you are a smoker, you may want to bring some room freshener. The smell is pretty stale in the smoking rooms from past students. I was in room 226.

I forgot to add in my earlier post about today that you do the simulators and have your final exam. All tests are open book, but some of the questions can be a bit tricky. Thoroughly read the questions and answers before you answer. Take your time. The classroom instructors are pretty cool and my truck trainer was pretty laid back and easy to get along with. I have heard from some of the other students that a couple of the truck trainers can be a bit challenging. It is hit or miss.

    Good luck.

Thanks man!!! Yepper, I aced the checkout drive, no problem there. I've got the new Qualcom pretty much down, except for editing the logs. It looks like something I need to work on. But really, why should I worry? I NEVER do wrong!!LOL:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

No water, they knew I was coming, so they just laid down palm fronds.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
