Ran across this on another site I frequent. Seems a husband/wife were out in their 1912 Ford when a semi rear ended them.

I don't know any more details than what's in this link.

You know, there really are some things that a driver does, that he should get horsewhipped for. Running over a Model T definitely makes that list!:biggrin_25510:

I bet them people was skeert if they looked in the rear view and saw a trailer truck bearing down on them. I bet they was going slower and causing a noosense! Everyone always blames the man in the trailer truck and never asks what happens!!!!!!!!!!!

No matter how fast or slow the car was going, the truck driver should've been paying more attention. I'm not defending either side here.

I have a few Vintage cars and when I'm driving one of the early cars I'm full aware of their mechanical limits (IE- I'm not going to drive my '22 Model T on the interstate) and others who own cars like this are also fully aware of same.

I think the only nuisance they were causing was them minding their own business.

It was probably going faster than an Amish buggy, and there is no excuse for running into one of them either!

A T Model will run 40-45 mph easy. But you have an excellent point!

Does a car that old even have a speedometer?? Speed wasn't an issue back in them days.

Was it on an interstate with a minimum speed limit? No flashers or a reflective triangle?

Lawyers will have fun with this one.

It's terrible such a great antique was destroyed. The driver should of avoided it even if it was a cow standing in the road. He wasn't paying attention or was reckless.

Barney must of been in a full run chasing him down. That's how he figured 12 mph. :biggrin_2559:

Government wastes no time. There probably wasn't even a traffic court.

Thanks for the reply. You learn something everyday.
