You're right BackIsSore, it's not much trouble having the truck worked on here at home, other than the shop has been swamped. The bright side is that I get to be at home until the truck is ready, which it is by the way. Called the shop earlier and it's finally ready. So, gonna get there really early tomorrow morning, get my load and have it 900 miles by Tuesday 9:00am.

Good job,
When and where do you drop? I'm just trying to figure your mileage per day. Thanks. TD.

I drop tuesay or Wednesday in Columbia, md. I've been pushing about 540 a day easy. I can go more but have been stopping short so I can park each day. I start early and end just as early. East coast parking sucks so starting tomorow it's gonna get tough.
-
parking will be the least of your worries come tommorrow. with the holdiay traffic its gonna sucks!!
if you have never experinced holiday traffic in ny/nj/pa/del/md you should check it out sometime!
be safe!! -
yea today was pretty light on traffic, tomorrow I plan on leaving around 1am pacific time (4am their time i think) i only have to push 470 miles so I should be ok since most of it is open road. I plan on getting into virginia and parking for the night, then the next day only got 200 miles left and that is the drop. I can show up at their door and wait them out. They tell me 3 hour call ahead but nobody is picking up or calling back so I will just show up and wait 3 hours if i have to.
also saw 2 bad crashs today, one was on 40 in AR, ford explorer or something like that did a rollover into the center divider. two life flights and a ambulance were picking up people off the road. No bueno.
second one was in Nashville, on the last left turn out of nashville it tells you to slow to 40 or something like that, a tractor/trailer combo went off the side, looks like he just fell asleep or something because there were no skids no nothing, just where he ran down the hill and put it on its side. I think he was ok, there were two guys with the police and fire and they looked fine. Wonder how they are going to get that one out, its a steep drop down i doubt they can just winch the whole thing out. -
Thanks for the update, Be safe. TD.

I just started a thread to update my daily progress during my 10 day Orientation, 12 hours from now I will be heading to the airport.
-
Best luck to you man, Don't drink those coupons up that they give you, I will be looking for every update you put on here, You will be fine, I'm waiting to see what it is like for you, I go into the last of 2 weeks in the classroom and then I have heard I may have to switch over to the afternoon class when we go to driving.. We will see it will be about 140 in the shade at that time... They have 11 students in the class in the morning and they want to send some to the evening course to drive as well... We will see. Take Care. Be safe. TD.

I almost posted yesterday morning to tell you to turn off your jake when you're pulling in to a terminal at 0600...
...but I wasn't sure if the sarcasm would translate with the proper humor. Bringing Todd breakfast these days?
