1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I am new to the industry and have been reading all the postings that I can, but I sense that there is a lot of unhappy truckers in the industry!

I was just wandering if anyone had good stories to tell? Since there are so many trucking companies that are wanting drives there has to be some good stories.

I do appreciate everyone being honest on this site, it really helps a new recruit, but if there are some good trucking companies to tell about it would be great to hear about them.

Thanks for the heads up !

It's not about which trucking company is good or bad to work for because it's about a trucking industry that's bad. With the exception of LTL, or local driving, all trucking companies operate the same way. The only way to make trucking work for you is to go into it with very low expectations. You probably will not stay long because you will leave, or the industry will put you out for one reason or another.

CDL holders are a dime a dozen and trucking knows it, and will constantly remind you of it too so you will not forget it. Sure there some people that have managed to survive and prosper on the drivers side of the business, but when you consider how many millions of CDL drivers there are, those few good stories are few and far between. Good luck!
