    I want to say Milan express is an LTL outfit. I worked for Con-Way when I first got out of the Army and they shared the yard with us, Alot of there drivers seemed like reagades. They payed drivers like a dollar less than US. Gas is seasonal but it just slows down just enough to catch your breath. Asphalt is real seasonal. Best of luck to you.

    I realley don't think they are that hard to get on with, alot depends on the area you live in. They hired me right out of school, but I did have a sqeakey clean driving record back then

    Hey Smokie ... just got a letter from DMV and apparently they think I might be a security risk ... can you believe that? After haulin' gas for 23 years, they're finally gettin' around to wondering wether I'm the right man for the job. Think I'll call them up and tell 'em that I used to be a kingpin for a "sleeper cell", but I'm the last one left.... the rest died of old age.

    Apparently, this crap is part of the Patriot Act and if I don't do as they say they wont let me get my Hazmat endorsement when my CDL has to be renewed. The last time I renewed they didn't have this in effect ... musta missed it just by a couple of months in 2005. Oh well, more hoops to jump through. Say ... do you have any authentic Arab clothing from your stint in Iraq that I can wear when I go to get finger printed or do I just go in there and bounce my head off the floor 3 times and yell "Allah Akbar!"?????????? :biggrin_25523:

    As long as you have your credentials, HAZMAT and Doubles that is all you need to get on with Con-Way. Go give them a shot and if they say no then nothing lost or nothing gained except 5 minutes.
    Con-way is a fine Company, I only quit because it is a real senority based outfit and when it gets slow the junior guy doesn't work. I was only going to leave long enough until the ecomeney picked up but I have been a Mid Night Gas Hualer for so long that it is now away of life, and realley can't see myself being happy doing anything else

    I went to conway, they say apply on line, I did.Didnt here anything yet,when I went over there to ask about it some guy told me that MILAN EXPRESS is hiring.Thats how I found the job at Milan.I got to take that job,I need to drive again soon.Dont know much about Milan.

    Don't take it personnel John. It is just another way for the goverment to scam us out of our money. I don't know if you have to have TWIC cards up there, but that is about the same price as the HAZMAT endorsment. I don't see why I have to get finger printed twice to do one job. What a scam
