    My Diet
First let me say, I am 48 years old and have been trucking {otr} for the past 18 1/2 years. Recently I found out that I have sleep apnea.
There were times when I would pull over get in the sleeper and sleep hard for 8 or 9 hour's get up hit the road and fight to stay awake.
I went to sleep clinic and found out that I stopped breathing 43 times a hour, The doctor fixed me up with a machine to help me sleep and it works SOMETIME'S.
I decided during the holiday's that I was going to become a smaller person. I started a diet the 15th of Jan, And basicly stay away from breads and sweets. Plus I have cut back on my food intake. I have a microwave oven in the truck plus I have a George Foreman cooking machine. I normaly get up and have a salad then for lunch I'll have a 8 oz steak or some other meat then for super I'll have a can of beans or corn, some form of veggy.
Plus I get off my fat butt and walk normaly around 15 to 20 minutes a day. Me and the wife are both doing this diet, and the amazing thing about it, You don't feel hungry. I try and keep sun flower seeds in the truck, plus I drink alot liquid, I'm a pepsi holic and thats the next thing I'm going to try and wean myself of, to much sodium.
So far I have lost a total of 21 pounds, But I got a long road ahead of me. I weighed out when I started the diet at 343 pounds.I know it will take time. every once in a while we go out and reward ourselfs.

Lose the pepsi and get bottled water and forget the canned veggi's and go for fresh veggi's and fruits and you are well on your way. Good luck and keep up the good work. Keep us posted on your progress.

Mr Sleepy congrats on some really good decisions.

I second lil's comments. I would add that when I started reducing, and then eliminating salt intake (there's plenty in tons of foods already anyway) I was AMAZED at how great those salads and veggies actually taste! Well, the organic ones anyway. Most of the non-organic ones look good but it's as though taste and REAL nutritional value have disappeared.

Here's one cool trick for when you feel a little hungry in the truck. Pull some of those peeled baby carrots out of the cooler. Delicious, quite filling, and not a bad thing in those for your health.

Hey I love your alias, you've got some sense of humor!

cool, u lost 21 pounds? nice work. Hey eat every 3 hours (small snack) you'll burn fat faster. If u dont eat small frequent, ur body turned into survivor mode which will eat ur muscles instead of burning fat. good luck man
