Landstar, you had posted that the moving violation that you received was in excess of 15/mph+, so that IS Careless Reckless Endangerment, sorry.

MOST trucking companies want a 5 year MVR for a non experienced driver, recent grad, and a 10 year MVR for experienced. DUI's must be 10 years old.

Therefore, the minimum amount of years would be a 5 year MVR, depending on which company you are applying for.

You sure seem to think that you have a lot of the answers that you seek.
I will not sugar coat the facts for you. This is trucking, after all.

You did not like the answers that you had received in your other threads, apparently. If you didn't like the gear that those posters were in, you surely wont like the one I am in.

    Best of Luck!!!

Honestly, you should look for smaller companies to hire you. Even if you go to Swift, they very well might drag you to orientation, just to tell you they wont hire you. It's pretty common.

Produce season is starting. Owner ops pullin for local farmers are looking for local jobs in many areas. You will probably drive a POS farm truck, but who cares? Most of these guys do not have the ability or do not care enough to pull your reports. Then theres beer distributers..as long as you act like you drink the kind of beer they sell, you'll probably fit in just fine there. They usually dont care...they'll even help kids get their CDL to drive for em...

Most places will *NOT* hire you until you have 3+ months of driving experience *after* the accident...and thats a minimum, for bottom feeders like JB Hunt....

Face it, you can make the same amount of money driving local as you can OTR. It sucks because OTR is an enjoyable lifestyle...but OTR sucks because of the economy and unemployment rates...

Driving "charges" vary state to state. I have 15 over tickets in 4 states over my life and NONE were "reckless" charges. The insurance my company uses also says it isn't the same.

Okay, Jeepskate, we will call it aggressive driving.
I am not sure what Texas would classify 15+ as, but it is still is not good for an applicant to have against them.

Our company just calls it a major moving violation.

I also referred to it as a major violation. I referred him to Coastal Transportation in N. Ga. Do you have any companies that you could refer?

Just local ones to Buffalo. I am thinking that won't do him much good.

Yeah, the one I referred him to, Coastal Transportation N.Ga. would consider the 15+/mi over the posted speed limit as careless reckless, but, they will work with that charge, at least, they used to. He would need to take that into consideration when applying, which states and companies would allow that major violation.
